Fees

Please note I do not offer bulk billing services.

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends a fee of $315 for a standard 50-minute psychology session. My fee is $280 per 50-minute session. If any additional time or work is required for reports or letters, this will always be discussed and agreed upon beforehand.

Please note that I’m unable to provide medico-legal reports for court proceedings or tribunals, and I’m not currently able to accept referrals from Victim Assist, Workcover or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).

Cancellations

I understand that unexpected things can happen and you may occasionally need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice where possible. This helps ensure the time can be offered to another client who may be waiting for an appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will incur a $150 cancellation fee.

Medicare

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

You don’t need a referral to book an appointment; however, Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).
A MHCP is prepared by your GP and provides access to rebates for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year.

  • Medicare rebate: $145.25 per session
  • Gap fee: $134.75 per session

Eating Disorder Plan (EDP)

Clients who are eligible for an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP), authorised by their GP, can access up to 40 rebated psychology sessions per calendar year.
A psychiatry review is required after the 20th session to continue accessing rebates.

  • Medicare rebate: $145.25 per session
  • Gap fee: $138.15 per session

Non-Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling

Individuals experiencing distress or uncertainty related to a current or recent pregnancy, or who have experienced pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or termination, may be eligible for Non-Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling under Medicare.
A GP referral is required to access up to three rebated sessions per calendar year.

  • Medicare rebate: $80.05 per session
  • Gap fee: $203.35 per session

Chronic Disease Management (CDM) / Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)

Individuals with a chronic or complex medical condition may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) or Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan.
This referral provides rebates for up to five psychology sessions per calendar year.

  • Medicare rebate: $61.80 per 50-minute session
  • Gap fee: $223.50 per session

Medicare Safety Net

If you or your family have regular medical or allied health appointments, you may reach the Medicare Safety Net threshold.
Once this threshold is met, Medicare increases your rebate, which means your out-of-pocket cost (gap fee) is reduced for the rest of the calendar year.
All eligible out-of-pocket expenses, including psychology sessions, contribute toward your Safety Net total.

Private Health

Please check with your health cover to determine whether you are eligible for a rebate from your private health insurer.

NDIS

I work with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants who are self-managed. Self-managed participants will be responsible for paying for their appointments upfront and then submitting their invoices to the NDIS for reimbursement. Please note that a small gap fee will apply for self-managed participants.

Supervision

I am a STAP-accredited supervisor and offer supervision to individuals completing their clinical registrar program.  I can provide supervision either face to face or via telehealth. Please email hello@theresepriceclinicalpsychology.com.au for further information.
