Fees

Please be advised that I do not offer bulk billing services.

The recommended fee for a psychologist, as outlined by the Australian Psychological Society (APS), is $315 for a standard 50-minute appointment. I charge $280 for a standard 50-minute session. Any additional charges for clinical reports and letters will be communicated and agreed upon before commencement of work.

Please note that I do not provide medico-legal reports for legal proceedings or tribunals. Furthermore, I am unable to accept referrals from Victim Assist or the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).

Cancellations:

In the event that you need to cancel a session, I kindly request a minimum of 48 hours' notice. This allows for the appointment slot to be offered to others on the waiting list and helps avoid incurring a cancellation fee of $150.

Medicare

MHTP

While a referral is not mandatory to schedule an appointment with a psychologist, it's worth noting that Medicare rebates are available for the treatment of qualifying mental health conditions under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP).

A Mental Health Treatment Plan is initiated by your General Practitioner (GP) and facilitates access to Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. Upon referral from your GP, Medicare offers a reimbursement of $ $141.85  per session. The gap fee is  $138.15 per session.

Eating Disorder Plan

For individuals eligible for an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP) authorised by their GP, an extended provision of up to 40 sessions per calendar year is possible. However, a psychiatry review is required following the 20th session. The Medicare rebate for sessions claimed under an EDP is $141.85  per session. The gap fee therefore is $138.15 per session.

Non directive pregnancy counselling

I am trained to provide non-directive pregnancy counseling. This form of counseling aids clients in exploring concerns related to current or recent pregnancies, including miscarriage and planned termination, within the past 12 months. Individuals seeking this service will require a referral from their GP and are entitled to 3 psychology sessions, each lasting 30 minutes. Medicare offers a rebate of $68.45 for these sessions.

CDM/EPC

Eligible individuals can access psychology sessions through the Chronic Disease Management/Enhanced Primary Care Plan pathway. This pathway offers up to 5 sessions with a psychologist, with a Medicare rebate of $58.30 for each 50-minute session.

Private Health

Please check with your health cover to determine whether you are eligible for a rebate from your private health insurer.

NDIS

I work with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants who are either plan-managed or self-managed. For plan-managed participants, my services will be billed directly to the NDIS, eliminating any out-of-pocket expenses. Self-managed participants will be responsible for paying for their appointments upfront and then submitting their invoices to the NDIS for reimbursement. Please note that a small gap fee will apply for self-managed participants.

Supervision

I am a STAP-accredited supervisor and offer supervision to individuals completing their clinical registrar program.  I can provide supervision either face to face or via telehealth.  Please email hello@theresepriceclinicalpsychology.com.au for further information.
